Don't forget to visit Two Lovers Point to see the beautiful view when you come to Guam.
Here is a little bit about beautiful and sad story about this place....
Long time ago, when Spain ruled Guam, there was a proud family
living in Hagåtña, the capital city. The father was a wealthy Spanish
aristocrat and the mother was the daughter of a great Chamorro chief.
Their daughter was a beautiful girl. Her beauty presented the greatest pride and dignity unto her family.
One day, the girl’s father arranged for her to take a powerful Spanish captain as her husband. When the girl found out about this, she ran away all the way to the north of Guam.
She met and fell in love with a young Chamorro warrior there.
But the girl’s father knew about them, he got angry
of course and demanded that she marry the Spanish captain right away. (Wow, sounds like Romeo and Juliet...)
That day at sundown, she escaped to the same point and met her young lover again.
Her father, the captain, and all the Spanish soldiers searched the lovers up to the high cliff above Tumon Bay. All the young couple could do was warn them to stay back but the father refused to listen and sent the soldiers to them.
The lovers tied their long black hair into a single knot and looked into each other’s eyes and kissed for the final time. Then, they leaped over the long, deep cliff into the dark blue waters down below...
Since that day, the high point on the cliff at Tumon was known as Puntan Dos Amantes, or Two Lovers Point.
A strange thing about this point that my Guam friend told me when I was on Guam in 1999 that there are sort of two faces you can see under the cliff just like they are standing next each other looking out ocean...
Can you see that from a picture that I took as above?
A Little bit creepy, huh?
There are two way; one is take a bus or take a taxi.
If you take a bus, take a red bus, "Two Lovers Point Shuttle."
Bus leaves from T Galleria by DFS (Bus stop #20) then JP Super Store (Bus stop #21) then Two lovers point from 9:30 am every day.
After 9:30 am, Bus will stop by Micronesia Mall after JP Super Store bus stop. You can get off there for shopping, eat or whatever and ride back again and go to the point with same bus ticket.
Bus ticket is $10.00 round trip come with entrance ticket there.
Return bus goes straight back to DFS.
Picture below is backside of ticket that I bought in 2014.
It is coupon of three restaurants as you can see.
You can go wrong with this bus ticket, just don't go last day of your stay, that's it. I recommend. LOL.
